Description

Click “More Info” tab above for details about the weeklong Anthropos Retreat

Anthropos Festival is a celebration of humanity throughout time: past, present and future. We want to delve into creating beauty through the arts + music and examine our innate ability to gain wisdom through introspection.

A new kind of festival with stunning visual art, diverse electronic beats and live acts. Workshops, lectures, discussions, healing area, welfare, live painting, artistic involvement, spa & sauna spaces!

The spectacular and large art gallery will be accompanied by live painting, art creation spaces (for everyone get creative in), large collaborative art projects as well as amazing décor and land art.

We are joined by many amazing international and local musicians and bands presenting a wide array of genres, a bit of something for everyone. Ranging from deep trancey beats to incredibly energising harmonies, psychedelic rock to world and reggae.

Breath taking performances and ceremonies throughout. The healing area will be expansive, with many experienced teachers and practitioners of diverse fields. There will be many lectures, guided meditations and workshops including on circus arts.

Remembering earth and all of its inhabitants. Sustainable energy sources, lowering carbon footprint, vegan food and drink. Waste reduction such as our ambition to be single use plastic free, a recycling deposit and using only reusable serve-ware. Leave No Trace!

Anthropos Festival is all about involvement. Everyone creates the festival together Plenty of art spaces to get creative in, an open mic / jam stage for people to bring their own instruments and voices to and a chance to collaborate with artists alike. We Are All Anthropos

Our Five Values
Our values are Growth, Exploration, Balance, Connection and Celebration. We believe in building a sustainable future which is inclusive and diverse. As a crew we aim to have a positive impact on not only your personal experience as a festival participant but also on the broader culture beyond that. Environmental awareness is at the heart of our festival. We want to explore new ideas and think about where we might be able to move to as a humans, together. Highlighting the very best of the human experience, we believe that everyone’s voice is important and brings something unique to this reality that we shape together.

The name ‘Anthropos’
Anthropos means human in both ancient and modern Greek. Join us in a celebration of all of humanity throughout all time: past, present and future. We will explore the unique nature of our consciousness – our drive to create beauty through the arts and music, combined with our innate ability to gain wisdom through introspection. Together let us re-remember how to be human!

About the Logo (Hand Stencil)
The festivals logo is based on pre-historic hand stencils. Hand stencils and prints are among the oldest types of human art and can be found all over the world. They are a universally human symbol. See this page for more info.

Why 12019 HE (HUMAN ERA)?
We’re currently in the year 12018 HE, going by the Holocene Calendar. The Holocene Calender is a year numbering system that places its first year near the beginning of the Holocene geological epoch and the Neolithic Revolution (which adds 10,000 years to the currently dominant Gregorian calendar). It’s a more inclusive system that makes our past more impressive and incorporates all humans from all cultures into our calendar. For more context on the Holocene calendar, check out this video by the Kurzgesagt – In a Nutshell youtube channel.
